So, I'm nowhere near done but I've been honestly reading and collecting valuable info on my own to start. For example, I've been reading a book on AI ethics published by MIT press. Here are some examples of notes I've been collecting:
One of my friends studies at Dartmouth and I've been collecting value from some of the resources he sent me on this topic:
Here are some other notes / resources I've been collecting so far to get a baseline understandingL https://medium.com/hackernoon/the-decision-makers-guide-to-starting-ai-72ee0d7044df https://www.scribd.com/document/476272088/Guide-to-Responsible-Tech-How-to-Get-Involved-Build-a-Better-Tech-Future
and of course, courtesy of Wesley: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Z1G9sNwx_4MCYbZ8Lt4TYFYiGgfV-IFXYMmu5GRwr7g/edit I was under the impression that I would work on creating the outline and a more structured plan with my mentor but I guess it didn't turn out that way — which is why it'll take me longer since I no longer have his support here. ☹️
What did you learn about yourself from this project?
I'm deeply curious about AI, I just learned more about how many more cool things there are to learn about this - AND that I should honestly just imagine that if someone who you're working with becomes unresponsive after 2 days, you're on your own and shouldn't wait
What did you learn academically from this project?
Not enough yet to say that it's substantial - I'm going to need to do a deeper dive in.
What advice would you give to someone starting a similar project?
Definitely check out MIT Essential Press books if you're looking for an intro to a scientific topic. Also, create a plan for yourself by just assuming that you'll be working on it by yourself, even if it's with other people.
Rose, Bud, Thorn.
🌹: Learning about the scientifiic angle of AI ethics from my book so far
🥀: Mentor unresponsive, ambiguity, delay, etc.
🌱: create a plan for myself by just assuming that I'll be working on it by myself, even if it's with other people.
What advice or feedback do you have for the Sora team?
Being more honest w. commitment? IDK, would've appreciated that. Also, 3 weeks is better than 2 weeks imo.
