Idea Generation

What is this project about?

My project is a book I'm writing. I plan to write this book over the course of the school year.

What do you want to get out of this project?

I hope to finish the book by the end of the school year, or at least develop the plot by then.

where did the skills go? we are taking skills out of the idea generation process, in an attempt to make projects more career-focused. If you want to get leveled-up for a project, share it with the appropriate guide or faculty member for feedback upon completion.

Reflect on this project cycle by answering the questions below.

The act of reflecting allows us to pull out the big takeaways that we'd like to remember from this project to make recalling them easier.

What are some of the most interesting discoveries you've made working on this project?

I discovered more of my own writing abilities over the course of the project. I also found that once you have an idea in mind for a while, it goes down great on paper. I had already developed ideas for characters in my mind, so it was interesting to finally put those ideas in action with writing.

What extra resources would be helpful for this project in the future?

I think having a second opinion every now and then would be helpful. It'd also be helpful if I got to read stories similar to mine, to see what I'm missing throughout the story.

šŸŒ¹ What did you enjoy most about this project? šŸ„€ What didn't go well in this project? šŸŒ± What will you do differently next time?

I really enjoyed writing out ideas I've had for a while. I also liked writing the characters, and having them interact with each other.
I don't think it's organized in the way I wanted it to be. Though it wasn't my goal, I didn't separate parts into chapters. I also haven't gotten to where I wanted to be in the story yet.
I think I'll spend more time writing, and write down my brainstorming rather than just keeping it in my mind. When I don't write things down, I tend to forget, and that happened a lot while writing.
