What is this project about?

As a group, we will create a video including music and original artworks relevant to the chosen song.

What do you want to get out of this project

I hope to improve my artistic and analytical skills in order to create art pieces relevant to the chosen song. (Hannah)

I'm hoping to challenge my imagination and come up with intriguing art pieces from the song. I also hope to work on my technical drawing skills while showcasing interesting aspects of the song. (Patricia)

I hope to challenge myself to show more emotion in my music and get better in production for song making. (Esteban)

where did the skills go? we are taking skills out of the idea generation process, in an attempt to make projects more career-focused. If you want to get leveled-up for a project, share it with the appropriate guide or faculty member for feedback upon completion.

Reflect on this project cycle by answering the questions below.

The act of reflecting allows us to pull out the big takeaways that we'd like to remember from this project to make recalling them easier.

What are some of the most interesting discoveries you've made working on this project?

Hannah: I discovered that it can be quite hard to create ideas that encompass the ideas of the song in a single drawing. That being said, it was an enjoyable experience that required me to think in different ways.

  • I also had a hard time trying to include recognizable aspects of the song into my art pieces.
  • I had to buy a new paint marker for this project and it has become my new favorite art supply to use.
  • This project forced me to really brainstorm which ideas would show the emotion of the song
  • I really wanted to work on showing emotion in the faces that I drew for this project and I think I got better at understanding facial expressions and how to make them stand out in my art work.

What extra resources would be helpful for this project in the future?

Hannah: None that I can think of...

What did you enjoy most about this project? What didn't go well in this project? What will you do differently next time?

Hannah: I enjoyed exploring what I could do with my artwork. I did have some trouble coming up with ideas that were relevant to the chosen song. If I were to do this project over again I think I would try and draw drawings that challenged me a little more.

Patricia: I really enjoyed inked the portrait of the girl I did. I haven't really done line work in that style in a long time and I love the way it turned out. I could have given myself more time in the beginning, even though the one I spent the least amount of time on turned out to be my favorite one. next time I will start production sooner, instead of brainstorming for so long.
