What are some of the most interesting discoveries you've made working on this project?

Did you spark a new interest? Perhaps you realized that you didn't like this field after all. Just tell us what you discovered about yourself through this project!

I really wanted to start the business on Amazon at the beginning because everyone made it seem so easy, but I realized it wasn’t as easy as it seems. I still like the idea of starting a business with drop shipping. I started a business before, but I was selling homemade items. I was worried about the quality and the time it took to create the product. With drop shipping, I still enjoy not having to make the item from scratch and still have a business. Once I start selling on the sites I chose, I may even want to sell my homemade items one day because now I know how to sell online and ship things.

What blockers got in the way of your progress?

A blocker is a challenge or issue that is stopping your from completing your deliverables.

The main blockers of my project were my age and taxes. These are the main reasons I didn’t go with Amazon.

What extra resources would be helpful for this project in the future?

Is there a particularly helpful book, website, person, or resource that would be helpful, or you will require to continue this project?

It would be helpful if I knew someone who has done drop shipping before so I could ask all the questions that the videos didn’t cover. More money would help product selection easier.

Rose, Bud, Thorn.

📚 Content Feedback:

  • Your guiding question is super relevant given the holiday time! I wonder who else in the Sora Community, or outside would be interested in this information?
  • On the first slide, I would split up "What is Drop Shipping?" and "Why you chose this project" this will help break up a big block of text and make it more clear what this project is about and why it's meaningful to you. I'd also love if you included a link to the article you mentioned!
  • A visual of what the phone case looks like could be useful here!

✨Further Learning:

  • I love the market day concept!! Do you have any ideas how we could do this in an online format? Would love to brainstorm on this together.
  • Using your visual design skills I feel like you could create some really cool looking infographics about the research you did on the pros and cons for the different marketplaces. This graphic could become something easily shareable for people looking to start a similar business, and save them the hassle of all the research you already did!

☑️ Action Items:

  • It would be great to brainstorm more about who a potential audience could be for this project. Who else might be interested in selling during the holidays?
  • Share a brief version of this presentation with the highlights of your research to help them make a decision more easily!
  • Maybe you could team up with Emily to make stickers with your company logo to put on each of the packages.
