Show us pictures, presentations, or anything else you made for this project!

What did you learn about yourself from this project?

Did you spark a new interest? Perhaps you realized that you didn't like this field after all. Just tell us what you discovered about yourself through this project!

I learned that I absolutely love medieval castles and I'm definitely going to spend some time building a fantasy castle in Minecraft

What did you learn academically from this project?

Take the skills you aligned to this project and show us how you applied them. Was there anything else you learned along the way?

Skills Leveled-Up

Skill NameWhy
I think I went into much detail in this project, or at least as much as I could.
Almost everything that involves castles involves Architecture and I think I learned a lot about this skill
Correct Punctuation
I use Grammarly and Grammarly says I have no punctuation issues! so I think that this skill I worked a lot on.
I had a lot of ideas for this project so it was hard to choose so I think I did a lot on this skill
Skill 5

What advice would you give to someone starting a similar project?

Was there a particularly helpful book, website, or resource? Or, perhaps you realized the scope of the project was too large because of an unforeseen constraint. Whatever the advice, give it here!

Try to explore each small little detail word for word because when it comes to castles the details are just as important as the big picture.

Rose, Bud, Thorn.

🌹What did you enjoy most about this project? 🥀What didn't go well in this project? 🌱What will you do differently next time?

🌹: Writing about all the parts of the castle

🥀: The exploration phase, it was hard for me to find info about these very specific things but I worked it out!

🌱: If I were to do this project again I would try to find more information on certain topics that I may not have covered enough on.

What advice or feedback do you have for the Sora team?

Was there anything particularly cumbersome or challenging this go-around? Any ideas to make projects run smoother for new students?

📚 Content Feedback:

  • You were able to define and name the construction materials of many of the different structures that define a castle and shared relevant pictures!
  • In terms of Polishing, if you bold the main vocabulary to distinguish your information hierarchy and also rotate your drawings so that they're horizontal, these changes would make it easier for the reader
    • I think it would be interesting to see how you display your information as a presentation since you've found so many pictures relevant to what you've learned!
  • I'm wondering if the bottom pictures are a castle of your own design? It's hard for me to tell since there wasn't a caption underneath those pictures

✨Further Learning:

  • A couple of the goals you set during Project Launch was to find out how castles were built and what devices were used by attackers, I think this is something you could still dig into further (which I think you also noted in your Bud Reflection)
  • It could be interesting to analyze the pros and cons of these structures when it comes to battle, or connect what you've learned here to Social Studies in how castles fell or helped win battles (this could be something interesting to connect with Michael with)
  • I would love to see how you integrate what you've learned into a Minecraft castle that you construct!

☑️ Action Items:

  • What sources did you use? It strengthens your presentation to include a works cited page at the end! If you do, I'd be happy to level up your Citing Sources and Research skills!
  • If you do the suggestions for Polishing, I'll also level you up with that skill as well!
